Spreading upon 4.3 hectares the citadel is fotmed by a fortified core surrounded by thick walls that holds the Franciscan Church and The Manutania building.
The citadel was completed in the times of Borsos Tamas - 1602 - 1652 and was built in the late Renascentist style.

The walls are 1 to 2 meters thick and build with river rock and bricks on the outside.

Nowdays The Citadel holds numerous fares and carnivals and it is considered as a recereational area for citysens of all ages and a place to learn history at fhirst hand.

The citadel's Reformate Church in Targu Mures has been built in the place of the old Franciscan church.
The building stages span trough almost 100 years and several emperors helped building the edifice - Steven Bathory, Iancu of Hunedoara, Nemes Gabor and many others.

Trough the years the church has suffered a lot of modifications and thus a lot of the original style was lost.

Still the citadel would not be what it is today without the Church .

The 1st Gate of the fortress of Alba Iulia

Having the shape of a triumphal arch with three entrances, this is the fhirst of three gates that secured the acces from the eastern side, from the lower part of the city.

Made from carved stone the Austrian coat of flags is centerd on the upper side of the gate, in the left there is a statue of Venus and in the right one representing Marte – god of war in greek mithology.

Also there are other sculptures representing Hercules fighting Antheus, Enea carrying her Anchise or Perseus holding Medusas head.

The 1st Gate of the fortress is an important symbol of the city of Alba Iulia and hopefuly it will be seen as an international site-seeing point.

The Custozza monument

Situated in the centre of the citadel's park near the Union Hall, the piramid shaped monument stands on a stair like base and it is surrounded by chains and cannon-balls. It has been unraveled in 1906 in the memory of the officers and soldiers of the 50th Infantry Regiment from Alba Iulia who gave their lives in the Battle near Custozza in the Austro-italic war in 1866. The majority of men whose names are carved into marble, are romanians from Alba county, forced to fight in harsh conditions for a cause thad did not belogn to them.

The Greek-Orthodox Cathedral, a monumental ensemble raised in 1921-1922 in the traditional Romanian style similat to that representing the Targoviste royal church - a succesor of the old Balgrad Metropolitan church dating from Michel the Brave's time in Alba iulia.

Also it was destined to serve de crowning ceremony of King Ferdinant and Queen Marie of Romania a cimentation of the union act from 1918.

The Cathedral was designed by the architect Victor Stefanescu, and the project carried out by the engeneer Tiberiu Eremia. It has a quadrilater shape and the church stands in the centre. The church is shaped in a greek cross and is represented by three towers and is decorated in a neo-brancovenean style.

The entire building is dominated by the 58 m (156 ft) tall bell's tower situated on the west wing.

Since 1975 the edifice has become the Center of Alba Iulia's Orthodox Episcopy, the owner of an important colection of medieval artifacts and most important old Romanian books.

This monument represents the struggle for freedom, the heroism with which the Romanian folk fought the revolution in 1784. The leaders of the revolution (represented on the west side of the monument) Horia, Closca and Crisan were captured and executed. But still, the act of great sacrifice is a milestone for the Romanian people in reaching the final national goal of a nation- independence !

In 1937, a beautiful obelisk was built in front of the Third Gate. The Project was initiated by "Astra" and carried through by local voluntary contribution. The monument is dedicated to the memory of the leaders of the great serves revolt (1784-1785). It is a monolithic monument, realized by the architect E. Mihalton and the sculptor Negrulea.It has a symbolical call at the base a winged Victory holding a laurel crown at the western side. In the pedestal of the obelisk has been carved the following homage to the three martyrs: "Homage to Horea, Closca and Crisan". " -

An incandescend body, will create a light spectrum, and the spectrum’s color is related to the temperature at which the body is heated.

As seen below, the colors vary for a certain body depending on the temperature point the body reaches

The change between colors happens trough intermediate colors as the body gets hotter or colder. At a low temperature the body would create a mostly red spectrum but as the temperature increases the rpectrum would turn to blue.

As daylight is formed from the mixed Red Green and Blue light, (33%,33%,33%) it explains the previous phenomenon as an unbalanced mix between these essential collors.

The color temperature is measured in Kelvin degrees, at 0 ̊ C + the real temperature of the body. For exemple for the Nitraphot lamp (2927 ̊ C)

Tk = 2927 ̊ C + 273 = 3200 K

The color temperature varies during daytime, it’s rich in red in the morning an evening but during the day it’s mostly blue. This color fluctuation can be influenced by mereorological factors, season or geographical situation. Artificial sources are influenced by the degree of usage or the power fluctuations.

Focus
the adjustment to place the sharpest focus where it is desired on the subject.
Aperture
adjustment of the iris, measured as f-number, which controls the amount of light passing through the lens. Aperture also has an effect on focus and depth of field, namely, the smaller the opening aperture, the less light but the greater the depth of field--that is, the greater the range within which objects appear to be sharply focused. The current focal length divided by the f-number gives the actual aperture size in millimeters.
Shutter speed
adjustment of the speed (often expressed either as fractions of seconds or as an angle, with mechanical shutters) of the shutter to control the amount of time during which the imaging medium is exposed to light for each exposure. Shutter speed may be used to control the amount of light striking the image plane; 'faster' shutter speeds (that is, those of shorter duration) decrease both the amount of light and the amount of image blurring from motion of the subject and/or camera.
White balance
on digital cameras, electronic compensation for the color temperature associated with a given set of lighting conditions, ensuring that white light is registered as such on the imaging chip and therefore that the colors in the frame will appear natural. On mechanical, film-based cameras, this function is served by the operator's choice of film stock or with color correction filters. In addition to using white balance to register natural coloration of the image, photographers may employ white balance to aesthetic end, for example white balancing to a blue object in order to obtain a warm color temperature.
Metering
measurement of exposure so that highlights and shadows are exposed according to the photographer's wishes. Many modern cameras meter and set exposure automatically. Before automatic exposure, correct exposure was accomplished with the use of a separate light metering device or by the photographer's knowledge and experience of gauging correct settings.
To translate the amount of light into a usable aperture and shutter speed, the meter needs to adjust for the sensitivity of the film or sensor to light.
This is done by setting the "film speed" or ISO sensitivity into the meter.
ISO speed
traditionally used to "tell the camera" the film speed of the selected film on film cameras, ISO speeds are employed on modern digital cameras as an indication of the system's gain from light to numerical output and to control the automatic exposure system. A correct combination of ISO speed, aperture, and shutter speed leads to an image that is neither too dark nor too light.
Auto-focus point
on some cameras, the selection of a point in the imaging frame upon which the auto-focus system will attempt to focus. Many Single-lens reflex cameras (SLR) feature multiple auto-focus points in the viewfinder.

Situated only 10 km (6 miles) from Alba Iulia, the Ampoita valley is a heaven for mountain climbers and trekkers as well. The path trough the mountains goes along the course of Ampoita river. The river carved this beautiful landscape trough the calcareous rock and brought with it sediments in which trees and plants caught root. Milions of years of ecological process resulted in this natural wonder that we can enjoy, unfortunately, just for some decades..

...and then, was rain. Clouds started forming over the valley. Mountain clouds, form quickly and vanish as well. The weather is very unpredictable because of the termic inversions and watercourse airflows. It's always good to have a raincoat or a tent...

...and boots. You'll find it irresistible not to climb on the rocks. This will be of great help when you climb. A rope is unnecessary because the terrain permits you to reach the summit of the cliff using just your hands and feet. It's a bit tricky but when you get there, you know it was worth doing it. Up there, you feel you can touch the sky. Magnificent I tell you, truly magnificent

I took this picture when I was going home at about 00:50. It was a nice evening, pretty calm, no wind just some clouds in the sky. When I gazed at the moon I saw that it was completely surrounded by a wonderful rainbow. But in the time that I prepared my camera the clouds passed away and I managed to capture only a part of the rainbow. Why did it appear? I think it was the clouds under the moon that made this strange phenomena possible. They were thin alto-stratus clouds and the water particles which formed them, formed this rainbow also. Too bad I didn't had a better camera or just a tripod

Wonderful sky you might say, but this lake's story lays underwater. Al dough the lake is man-made (I was standing on the dam when I took the picture), in it live strange species of fish and snakes. what's so particular about this creatures is their unusual size. Fishermen caught there some sheat fish measuring in length about 2-2.5 meters(6-8 feet). I didn't believe that until I saw with my own eyes one of this "monsters". It was about 1.5 meters (5 feet)long and weight about 70 kg(140 lbs). Some professional divers went there to explore the lake but they didn't got far and they came back to the surface, packed their equipment and went home saying that they never seen such big snakes or fishes. Locals continued the story and told others that the divers also saw cranes and coffins and all sorts of crazy stuff down there. what is important is that the lake is used by the children in the summer to swim and in the winter to skate and is vital for some fishermen who make their living by selling the "monsters" caught in the Ighis

It is thought that under these massive calcareous stones lays hidden an old monastery that watches over an entry that leads straight to hell. Along centuries many found death trying to climb on top of this stones. Others trying to find the secret cave. Villagers talk about a young boy who was found lying dead in the dirt and he looked as dough someone, something pulled him into the ground. They say he was half buried in the dirt and his eyes expressed an untold extreme fear, as his soul was riped from his young body. They say that when you're in that place, near the stones, just thinking at the devil, makes him come closer to our world
